The 1954-1955 Blue Devils Basketball team was coached by Chuck Mundell at Centralia Junior College, now Kaskaskia College, and held a record of 20-5 for 1955.  As Central Illinois Conference Champions, the Blue Devils defeated Harris Teachers College in St Louis, Vincennes, McKendree College, St Louis University Freshman, Southern Illinois University Junior Varsity, Lincoln Bible College, and St Louis Baptist College.  The BLue Devils were ranked in the top ten nationally and were the 8th highest scoring team in the nation; averaging 91 points per game. 

Two team members, George Marcum and Robert Welch, received First Team All-Tournament Honors for Region II.  Robert Welch was awarded the Sportsmanship award.  George Marcum also received NJCAA All-American Honors as the second leading scorer in the nation, averaging 33 points per game.   The Blue Devils were also inducted into the Centralia Sports Hall of Fame.
