Amy L. (Kruse) Froess was a member of the Blue Angels basketball program from 1991 - 92. In 1991, she received the Academic Award, the Blue Angel Award, and the Most Improved Award. In 1992, Amy was named to the All Region 24 Conference 2nd team, the All GRAC team, and was an NJCAA Distinguished Academic All American. She led the conference in Rebounding and was the GRAC 3rd leading scorer. Her other accolades include the Leading Scorer Award, Leading Rebounding Award, KC MVP, Team Captain, Blue Angels Coaches Award, Academic Award, and selection to the Dream Team. Amy also played on the volleyball team her sophomore year. A Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member, she graduated Cum Laude with an Associates in Art Degree before attending Fontbonne University on basketball and academic scholarships.  Amy was the team 2nd leading scorer and conference rebounding leader in 1993, earning the Outstanding Rebounding Award. In 1994, she was selected as the March Athlete and Scholastic Student of the Month and was team leading scorer and rebounder. She earned the Rebounding award, the Best Athlete Mary Schoendienst Award, and was named to the Academic All Conference team. Amy was named All Conference 2nd team in 1993 and 1994. Amy was the 1st Fontebonne University athlete to compete in 4 sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball) and scored the 1st goal in Fontbonne's soccer history. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science and was triple certified in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, and Elementary Education. Amy has a 22-year career as a teacher and coach in Columbia, Illinois, coaching basketball, softball, and soccer.
