Bryan Eversgerd played baseball for Kaskaskia College from
1987-1989. Bryan won 26 games in his career at Kaskaskia
College with an ERA of 3.73; his opponents could only attain a
batting average of .243 against him. Bryan had 242 strike
outs in 258 innnings pitched.
Bryan struck out eighteen Lincoln Trail batters in a row in a
12-0 win and finished with nineteen strikeouts while allowing only
five hits. Bryan was 9-1 in the spring of
1988. This left hander was 9-2 in the fall of 1988 with
an era of 1.73. Bryan was named Great Rivers Althetic
Conference Most Valuable Player.
In June 1989, Bryan attended an open tryout camp at Busch
Stadium and signed a free agent contract to pitch for the St. Louis
Cardinal Organization. Bryan played at Johnson City and moved
up through the Cardinal Organization where he was called to
the big leagues in April 1994. Bryan finished the year with
the Cardinals and in the spring of 1995 was traded to Montreal.
Bryan has played with three major league teams, the St. Louis
Cardinals, the Montreal Expos, and the Texas Rangers. Bryan
also played in the Boston and the San Diego Organizations before
becoming a pitching coach for the Cardinal Organization in
2001. Bryan is the pitching coach for Springfield Missouri
Cardinals in AA Baseball.
