Liea Toedte played women’s basketball for Kaskaskia
College from 1996 to 1998. As a freshman, Liea was named
All-Conference, selected as an Academic All-American, named to the
All-American Third team and was the Conference Newcomer of the
Year.
As a sophomore, Liea was named Great Rivers Athletic
Conference Player of the Year, Region 24 Most Valuable Player and
All-American First team. Liea averaged 20.7 points per game and
became the third person in the history of Kaskaskia College to
score 1000 career points. Liea was named Conference Most
Valuable Player both years she played at Kaskaskia College and was
selected as the Blue Angels Team Most Valuable Player.
Liea received a full basketball scholarship to play
Division I ball at Southeast Missouri State University where she
was awarded the Hoover Award for Academic Excellent on and off the
court during her senior year. After
graduation, Liea became a police officer with the St.
Louis Police Department.
