Marg Beckmann was an integral member of the first high school girl’s basketball team formed in the region; captaining the team and earning the Most Valuable Player Award. Marg's determination, initiative and leadership helped change the face of women's sports and set her on a path of lifelong commitment to promote progress and equality for female athletes.

After earning her Associate in Arts from Kaskaskia College, Marg went on to St. Louis University and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville before returning to Kaskaskia College.  Marg supported the Athletic Department through her position as the Administrative Assistant in the Office of Athletics and Student Activities.

Marg's knowledge was beneficial to the student athletes, providing guidance and enrichment during her ten years at Kaskaskia College.   After her retirement, Marg Beckmann continues to be a positive influence in the community through her involvement with the church and various community organizations.
