Monica (Konkel) O’Rear attended Kaskaskia College
from 1975 to 1977 and was an integral member of the Blue Angels
volleyball and softball teams. Under the direction of Coach
Mary Ann Bohbrink, Monica held a batting average of .357 with 23
runs batted in and 7 home runs in the Blue Angels first softball
season.
Monica completed her studies at Kaskaskia College in 1977
and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Monica passed away in
2000 and was inducted posthumously. Her legacy is carried on
in the athletic endeavors of her sons Calvin and Lucus.
Calvin attended Kaskaskia College and was named an Academic
All-America and was an integral member of the 2005-2007 Blue Devils
Baseball team.
