Tammy Winkeler Gomez was an integral part of the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels Volleyball team in 1989 and 1990.  As a freshman, Tammy was a regular starter as a middle hitter.  As a sophomore, Tammy became a team leader and was named co-captain.  In that same year, Tammy was an All-Conference selection, named to State Tournament First team and to the All-Region 24 Second team.

Tammy was a member of the 1990 Blue Angels Volleyball team, inducted into the Kaskaskia College Hall of Fame in 2011.  That team finished 31-6, won the Sectional Tournament, placed 3rd in the Region 24 State Tournament and was Co-Champions of the Great Rivers Athletic Conference with an 11-1 record.

Tammy transferred to the University of South Alabama where she continued her volleyball career as a two-year winner and was named Sunbelt First Team All-Conference. Tammy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of South Alabama.
