Alex is a 2019 gradulate of Mater Dei High School in Breeese, IL. He was a member of Knights cross country and track teams. He competed at the IHSA State meet in cross country 2 times. Alex advanced to the IHSA State track meet his senior year in the 3200 meter race. Detmer was team MVP his senior year in cross country and track. He was voted Most Improved runner his freshman year of cross country. Alex's favorite food is cheese pizza and favorite band is Led Zeppelin.
