KASKASKIA SIGNS LOCAL STANDOUT BRYLEE DUKES

CENTRALIA, IL -- Centraila High School senior, Brylee Dukes, has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to further her softball career and education for Kaskaskia College.  Brylee becomes the most recent and final piece of the puzzle for what has been a very productive recruiting class for Coach John Barnes. Brylee will primarily compete as an outfielder, but may possibly serve as yet another catching option for the program. She has interest in the nursing program at KC, and will bring a 3.8/4.0 GPA to campus. Brylee is the daughter of Blake and Jaime Dukes of Centralia.

Along with current KC freshman and CHS alum, Linsey McMillan, Brylee and the Centralia Annies softball program went 29-4 and celebrated a Sectional Championship last season. In fact the program has earned back to back Sectional Championships, to go along with 77 wins during Brylee's three year tenure thus far. During this time, Brylee has twice been recognized as a 1st Team All South Seven player. Brylee has also played travel ball for the Southern Glory. Outside of softball, Brylee is a key member of the CHS cheer team and is involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the youth group at Trinity Lutheran Church.

As mentioned, Coach John Barnes has now completed his first recruiting class and shares his thoughts on Brylee and the future of the program.  "Well, as we stand today, I am excited to announce that we have completed our '20 recruiting class! Our newest and final addition, Brylee, will be yet another competitive athlete who will help raise the standard of expectations we will have for our players.  She comes from a strong high school program, which will prove to have prepared her well for the next level. In speaking with Brylee, it is evident that she is ready to compete and make a name for herself at KC. Right now l plan to deploy her talent in the outfield.  Along with the rest of her new, in-coming classmates, Brylee posseses above average abilty in every category, but it is her experienced level of success that I feel may set her apart...she is a proven winner! Time will tell, but I am confident that she can be an integral part of our plans!"
