KAYLA GUETERSLOH TO PLAY SOFTBALL FOR KASKASKIA

CENTRALIA, IL -- Carlyle High School senior, Kayla Guetersloh, recently committed to play softball for the KC Blue Angels. Kayla plans to get her associates degree and advance towards her goal of becoming a speech pathologist.

Kayla joins high school teammates, Brooklynn Smith (current), and former Blue Angel, Hannah Hoffmann (class of 2019), as recent products of Carlyle softball coach, Jay Wellen. A highschool All Conference and All Area caliber player in both volleyball and softball, Kayla brings athleticism and speed, along with a rich intelligence of the game. Kayla has experience playing third base, as well as the middle infield.  Her bat has served at the top of the batting order for most of her high school and travel ball (SouthWest Illini Jaguars) careers.

Blue Angel Coach, John Barnes, elaborated on Kayla's signing: "I have known Kayla for a few years now, and have always considered that she would be the kind of player that a coach could build their infield around.  She is so quick to the ball and equally as fast getting the ball out of her hands. Impressively, she plays at this speed with few mistakes.  Offensively, she is gap to gap hitter that flies around the bases.  Her tools are ideal for what we are trying to make our program known for. In addition to Kayla, we have several other newcomers that will help improve the dynamics of our lineup into an opposing defense's nightmare. I am excited to see how Kayla will contribute to this change."
