Kaskaskia Blue Angel Volleyball Players Earn Post-Season Awards

Several Kaskaskia College volleyball players have received post-season honors.  These athlete include Jenna Ratermann (Breese), Sami Matthews (Fairfield), and Nicole Braner (Millstadt).

Ratermann and Matthew were both named to the All Region 24 First Team and Ratermann was also honored at GRAC Freshman of the Year.  Matthews and Braner were named to the All-Conference Team.

Jenna Ratermann was a freshman setter for the Blue Angels and was the leader on the team and a key to a lot of our success this year.  Coach Kim Rahar says, "Jenna finished the season with 646 assists and had a hitting percent of .235. and I am happy to say that she played in all 32 matches this year".

Sami Matthews was the freshman libero and led the team in digs with 232.  Rahar says, "Sami was one of our freshman that really stepped up and earned the libero position.  She did very well with reading hitters and serve receive and also played in all 32 matches this year".

Nicole Braner was a sophomore outside hitter who led the team with 254 kills and a hitting percent of .185.  Rahar says, Nicole was one of our go to hitters all season.  She also played in all 32 matches this year". 

The Blue Angels finished the season 20-12 overall and in third place in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference with a 6-4 record.  The Blue Angels also finished in second place in Region 24.
