The gun fired and the 317 racers from all over the United States were off in a cloud of dust or maybe sand. With over 41 full teams at the line and several individuals the start was a race to the first turn and a prayer you stayed up right! The Blue Devils made that first turn and then was continue to race as the 8K distance was 4 loops around Pole Green Park. Andrew Latham lead the way for the Devils with Jonathan Holthaus holding the number 2 spot. Branson Pappas finished his freshman season holding the third spot and having a another strong race. Number 4 was Jack Shelton, followed by Jack Walters. Owen Huelsmann was the sixth Devil to cross the line and Daniel Obernuefemann was the final KC racer to finish. Goes with out saying, this was a tough race (duh its Natonals!) The Blue Devils gave all they had, the efforts were there. The three second year runners, Jack, Owen, and Daniel were great leaders all season. The team finished 37th out of 41 teams.
