BLUE ANGELS SOFTBALL SIGN RYLEE LANGENDORF

BLUE ANGELS SOFTBALL SIGN RYLEE LANGENDORF

CENTRALIA, IL -- Edwardsville senior, Rylee Langendorf recently signed an NJCAA Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels.  The multi-sport athlete will bring leadership, work ethic, knowledge, a fierce competitive nature, and not to mention, tremendous talent, to the D-I JUCO program.  Rylee also plays select ball for the Black Widows organization, which is known for producing college bound athletes. The honor student plans in studying to become a middle school math teacher. Rylee is the daughter of Donnie and Jenna Langendorf of Hamel, Illinois.

Rylee brings with her an ability to control a pitching staff and the running game.  Miss Langendorf will be joined by her good friend and Black Widows battery-mate, Shelby Houchlei (Hillsboro), as the pair will look to add to their recent successes together. Physically, Miss Langendorf can be an imposing figure, already possessing the strength and body frame of a college athlete. She has the ability to hit for power and high average and still has room to grow.  When she is not catching, she has the experience and versatility in playing third base.

Coach John Barnes stated that he has big plans for Rylee and shared his impressions.  "I took one look at her and thought that she was a beast and hoped she could play.  After watching her, I was sold. Not only did she look the part, but she knew the game and her competitiveness was infectious. She is definitely the type of player that can draw attention, and I feel that her best softball is still yet to come. I am looking forward to working with her and making her even better.  She comes from a big school and a tested travel ball program, so she has been on the center stage.  I think that once she gets here, she will make the transition easier than most. It won't suprise me at all if she becomes one of the players that takes the leadership role and runs with it.  I try to recruit character first, and it is always special when that certain character is inside a monster of an athlete.  I found that in Rylee and I am super excited for her Blue Angels teammates and the institution to get to know her."
