Sam raced in the IHSA 1A sectional three times. His junior year his team won the IHSA Regional and Sectional advancing to the state meet. Sam was a member of the 4x800 relay team that advanced to the IHSA 1A State meet during his sophomore year. He raced in the Shazam state meet his senior year. Sam was honored with Integrity Award his senior year. Sam loves to dance to country music and his favorite food is crab legs with fresh garlic butter.
