Blue Devils at Greenville College Invite

Blue Devils working as a pack.

The rains came early, the 8k of loops on the Hillsboro Country Club golf course, were getting soggy. After over an hour delay from the races' orginal start times, the 10 plus colleges represented settled in the starting boxes, waiting for the start. The race featured the nationally ranked Heartland Hawks, the Mineral Area Cardinals, the Joliet Wolves, and the Kaskaskia Blue Devils. The race also featured the always tough Greenville University Panthers. When the skies darken and in a light mist, the Hawks ran away with the team title.Nick Fehr continue his assualt on the number 1 spot for the Devils, fighting his way over the distance in 28:30. Christian Rees was the number 2 KC man to cross the finish line. The next 4 Blue Devils were all packed in for tight finish. Jack Shelton, Owen Huelsmann, Daniel Obernuefemann, and Nick Zwilling. Ostin Habeck was the next to finish, followed by Tejas Zala and Caleb Locke. "Nick had an another solid race and continues to be that front runner for us. Chris got a good start and held on. Next was a pack of 5 working together. Z would lead for awhile, then others would step up. Tank broke off for a bit, then JS took to the front of that pack with Owen tying a rope to JS and hanging on. Those 4 ended up with a pack time of 24 seconds. It was good to see the guys working together and to see Nick Z back racing. On a side note Caleb Locke put together a good race, he always gives his best. As does Tajes."
