NJCAA National Championships Men earn 27th spot in the Nation in DII

Family and Friends

What a season! What a group! Lead by sophomores Nick Fehr, Nick Zwilling, and Christian Rees, the Blue Devils of the Kaskaskia College completed their seasons at the NJCAA National Championships in Huntsville, AL. The weather was perfect, the 8K course was mostly flat and fast like newly surfaced 400 meter track. A great day for a race. The goal was to race and beat people, but to also  control the early maddness and run our race. At the 4.6K mark Daniel Obernuefemann was running in the number 2 spot for the Blue Devils with Jack Shelton right behind his teammate. Nick Zwilling and Christian Rees were together at the 4.6K mark with Owen Huelsmann and Tejas Zala running 6th and 7th for the team. With over 291 racers there was a lot of chances to move up and Blue Devils did just that. This was a great team effort with everyone leaving it all out on the course. The KC men and women both represented the college and themselves with hard work and great attitudes all season. "Nick F chewed up a lot racers after the first mile, picking off 50 plus and Jack had a crazy last split with Daniel "Tank" putting together his best race of the year, just missed going under the 30 minute mark. Not sure about this "stat" but TZ might of been the fastest tennis player on the course. Owen finished the season on a high note, as did CR."
