NJCAA D2 Championships

The site of the NJCAA Cross Country Championships was the John Hunt Park located in Hunstville, AL. The championships featured all 3 Divisions with the DI men and women leading the way in the morning hours under the over cast skies of Huntsville, AL. The DIII races were next on the schedule. With the DII being the  biggest races of the day featuring 279 racers from over 45 community colleges. The Blue Angels lined up in box 26 of 55 boxes, which is right in the middle of all of the madness. The last race of the day was off as the women headed down the near 1/2 mile start to the first turn of the course. The course was flat and fast, like a all weather track surface, but consisted of brown grass. At the first mile mark Macey Lentz and Raelyn Dearing were side by side and right on pace. Right behind was Grace Lauer with close to her best first mile split of her career. The next three Blue Angels, Brooklynn McAllister, Gracee Kelly, and Simone Liefer were all on pace for thier best races of the season. At the mile 2 marker, the Blue Angels had stayed on pace for a great race to the finish line. Giving all they had and battling to the end, the Blue Angels had put together a race to be proud of. With a 23.05 average time and group time of 1:55.25, the Ladies finished 28th in the Nation. "These young ladies have worked hard all season, had set goals and put in the effort to reach thier goals.
